The Unico System for modular homes

The Unico System uses compact, low-profile components. The air handlers, plenum, and supply ducting can be installed at the modular manufacturer’s factory and connected onsite.

Installation process

• The Unico Modular Team develops a design plan for the modular manufacturer.
• The plan covers air handler placement, plenum layout, and supply ducting.
• The 3.5-inch by 14.5-inch low-profile plenum is installed in the interstitial spaces between modules at the factory.
• Flexible supply tubing can be installed in floor, ceiling, and wall panels.
• After transport to the build site, builders and subcontractors are trained on connection, outlet installation, unit placement, and commissioning.

Concrete installation timing

• Connecting The Unico System tubing to pre-installed second-floor runs typically takes a single laborer less than an hour.
• In one Black Street development home built by Module Builders in Pittsburgh, four of eight second-floor outlets were connected in 2 minutes and 47 seconds.

Factory and site support
